Telling your child they CAN’T 🙅‍♀️ vs they CAN ✅.

There will always be things you can’t let your child do, but you want to promote what they can do. Language is key and there are examples below.

Instead of “you can’t throw wood blocks!” ➡️ “you may throw silk scarves + wool balls.” I like @Sarahssilks and @palumba_camdenrose wool balls

Instead of “you can’t jump on the table!” ➡️ “you may jump on a soft cushion.”

Instead of “you can’t pour water on the floor!” ➡️ “you may pour water on the plants.” 🌱
