Anyone having difficulty with their preschooler "lying" to them?

💛💛💛

Around five years old some children will start not telling the truth about their behavior or situations they experienced.

This is developmentally appropriate. Kids aren't intentionally lying in a deceitful way. Their fibbing is rooted in not wanting to feel embarrassed or disappointment. Thus, you need to give them a chance at redemption. For example, if your child throws their napkin on the floor and says his or her sister did it... your response could be "I bet you wish you didn't throw your napkin on the floor." You have to believe that your child wants to do the right thing. Remember they have only been around for five years.
