GRAINS and GLUTEN - what should we do?
In our family we tend to avoid gluten and are very careful with the grains that we buy. Pictured here are the grains that we love.
🌿🌿🌿
Here’s why... With recent news of the Monsanto lawsuit, there are so many questions regarding the presence of the toxin Glyphosate in many of our everyday foods.
🌿🌿🌿
The best way to avoid Glyphosate exposure is to buy grains that are organic, however that being said, some organic farms are still finding high amounts of Glyphosate in their products due to the fact that it can stay in the soil for up to 20 years. Also, being located next to a conventional farm can spread the toxin through the wind. Organic farms only need to be 15 feet away from a conventional one which is a problem.
So what are you supposed to do?
🌿buy organic
🌿limit gluten and question your grain sources (ie quinoa, millet, teff, gluten-free rolled oats)
🌿find out where your farm is located and how close they are to a conventional farm.
And remember in the end, it’s all about moderation and doing what is best for you and your family 🤗
