Food Allergies

How many of your kids have allergies or have friends who have allergies? 🥜🥜🥜

1 in 13 kids in the US now have a food allergy. About 40% of those children are allergic to more than one food. Not all of my kids have food allergies, but they are all aware of what an allergy is and are considerate of others who may have allergies. I love the book by Robbie Harris What’s So Yummy on my amazon shop in the kid's book catagory. There is a section in the book about allergies and how to teach kids about food allergies. 💓
It can be scary and daunting for a parent to send their child to school knowing they have an allergy that could be set off accidentally by another child's food or by a teacher serving a snack. With my middle daughter who is allergic to dairy and gluten...she now knows to ask when being served food: "does it have dairy or gluten?"

I also love that @mabelslabels has labels for various food allergy indications that you can put on their lunchboxes to make sure there is no cross-contamination. Although my eldest doesn't have any allergies, he is mindful to ask when he has a playdate if they have any allergies. We take this very seriously in our family as it can be life-threating for some.
