A Special Place for those Treasures

Does your child have a treasure box or a box where they like to collect things?
❤️❤️❤️
I love starting this between the age of 2.5-3 when they start to say “Oh that’s mine.” This is the stage where they start to recognize that they can take ownership of things and where they transfer from third person to first person. “Me want to go outside” to “I want to go outside” .

This is why I say after the age of 2 stop referring to yourself as mommy and say I so that they can start to make the connection of who they are using the proper pronouns. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You may even start to notice that your child will find random objects (rocks, shells, or sticks) that they want you to keep safe for them or they will create a space or drawer in there room where they collect every thing. Providing them with some kind of vessel to store these things validates to them that it is ok and that you will keep these items safe. I got this one from @palumba_camdenrose but feel free to use a shoe box which works just as well. You can also allow your child to decorate their treasure box to really feel a sense of ownership. This may also help alleviate some jealousy between siblings as they have a box of things that no one else can touch.
