Your baby should be well aware of the world around them and may get easily distracted. Nursing/Feeding can be increasingly difficult. You may be required to feed in a dark room or in solitude as your baby is now paying attention to the world and so excited to explore it. One of my tips is to wear a wooden teething necklace (see my stories) that can help distract your baby in order to let them finish a full feed. π€π€π€
Sleep: Sometimes your baby will start to wake up at night because they feel like they won the lottery-- they know how to roll over, they can grab things, they can reach for things, they enjoy hearing the sound of their voice, etc. The important thing to do is to ensure that they are getting enough breastmilk/formula during the day so that you know they aren't waking up due to hunger (this may require some additional top offs). *If you have a mobile on your crib it should be moved now as this may distract them when they are sleeping. πππ
Communication: Their communication is now also starting to develop. You may see your baby starting to talk a lot more(babbling and copying sounds). You may also see them becoming more easily startled by the dogs barkingπ This is a great time to introduce baby sign language. I personally like to use the signs for milk, more and all done to start with. πππ
Entertainment: Lots of time on the floor where they can be surrounded by no more than two or three items (a wooden ring, a wooden rattle, or a @sarahsilks) Babies love anticipation which is why the game of peek-a-boo is infamous for making babies laugh.
