3-Month Milestones
👶 By 3 months your newborn should start to “wake up” more. They interact and are more alert. They should be cooing and smiling as a result of you engaging with them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 Some babies will have already learned to roll over, and some are still working on it at this age. If your baby has rolled over, then they should no longer be in a swaddle as it is a safety hazard. You can then switch to a sleep sack for additional warmth.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 As always make sure to let them have time on their back and their tummy daily to help them build their core and neck muscles. They should be able to push up on their arms while laying on their tummy at this age, as well as lift and hold their head up (see picture). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 They should be able to open and close their fists and bring their hands to their mouth. Handing them a small wooden ring is a good thing to start practicing going forward. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👶 When they get excited, they should be able to move their arms and legs off of a surface
