Time Saving Tips

I talk about this a lot with my friends who grew up on the east coast. It was common for them to take off their shoes and hang up their coat when they walked through the door. This was because everything was wet or muddy.

This is great practice for all kids no matter where you live. Teach your kids when they enter the house to take off their shoes and put them in their basket (or whatever works best for you), have a hook for their coat/sweater or hat, and they should have a spot for their lunchbox.

I don't have a mudroom but the kids know to take their shoes off and bring them to their respective baskets that I keep underneath the family room table. This also saves you time so they aren’t running around searching for a missing shoe, which is a win-win for all!
