Quick tip: Crawling

If your child skips crawling, you want to create opportunities for your child to get on all fours. Crawling teaches cross lateral movement and also connects the two different hemispheres in the brain (for example, such as climbing a ladder).

You want to make sure to focus on various types of physical movements to allow your child plenty of opportunities to use their body and know where their body is in space. If you have concerns about this, speak to your pediatrician and ask for a referral to have an occupational therapy evaluation.
