Purposeful Work for Kids
Need more to add to your kiddos schedule while also getting things you need to get done?? Get your kids doing some purposeful work while at home (this is an example of an activity I listed on my blog post). But what is the point of purposeful work?⠀⠀
Purposeful work for kiddos is not just to help you. It serves a bigger purpose! Not only are your kids learning to be independent, but when you allow your child to participate in what you usually do at home, you are showing your children that you trust them. Why is this so important? This helps create a relationship that is solidified in trust early on so when they are older they will come to you because they will feel that two way street of trust and respect. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What are some examples of purposeful work?

✅Making your bed
✅Folding pants
✅Matching socks
✅Sweeping
✅Table wiper
✅Putting silverware back

All of these things help promote a child’s visual, perceptual, fine motor and even math skills. There is also a lot of teaching you can do through purposeful work. For example, when putting away silverware, you can ask how many spoons do you have in the drawer and how many are you adding?
