I Don't Tell My Son He Can't Wear Nail Polish

I don't tell my son he can't wear nail polish

While I don't love the idea of nail polish in general because most nail polish is toxic... my kids are definitely aware that nail polish exists because they don't live in a bubble. Both my kids had asked for nail polish and honestly, the only one I am ok with using is the one from @nailmatic. It's a non-toxic water-based nail polish made in France. Free from phthalates, formaldehyde, toluene & fragrance. And it washes off with warm, soapy water. (#NOTANAD)

It's also important to me to limit the number of stereotypes that my kids are introduced to and so when my son asks to put it on I have no problem with it. However, he knows that he can't wear it at school (they don't allow it) but it is really about showing it is something fun to do and that there is a time and place for it. The more you make a big deal of things, the more questions you'll get and confusion you'll create.
I’ve had to explain to him that there are some things he may not be able to do like giving birth to a baby and to my daughter I explained she can't aim her pee while standing up. Limit talking about things that they can't do. It's all about framing things in a positive manner and reminding them of what they can do.
