Do You Have Indoor and Outdoor Shoes?

Do you have indoor and outdoor shoes?

👟👟👟

Let's talk about why I have them. This is not just about toxins and keeping your house clean, rather the act of removing shoes also slows your kids down and acts as a transition from one activity to another. Having a place for shoes also gives your child a sense of routine and familiarity, and it promotes independence because they know where to put their shoes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My favorite indoor slippers for kids are by @softstarshoes. I also love to have rain boots (even living in LA ☀️) so the kids can feel at ease when they get muddy outside. This is not to say that I don't offer lots of barefoot time because grounding (touching your feet to the earth) is important even for kids. My favorite rain gear is from @biddleandbop as it is free from PVC, flame retardants and AZO dyes. The rain pants also have suspenders which are attached and prevent your kids bottoms from getting wet. When it is wet, drizzling or raining the kids can't wait to put on their rain gear as it is a whole new adventure. In fact... my middle daughter's birthday party fell on a rainy day this year and I didn't cancel it on purpose. The kids had a blast playing in the rain.
